A court in Uganda has ordered a woman to pay her former fiancé more than $2,700 in compensation for psychological pain after breaching a promise to marry him.
According to DW Africa, Court's records show that Richard Tumwine and Fortunate Kyarikunda, both teachers, started their relationship in 2015 and later entered a marriage agreement in 2018.
The court also heard that Mr Tumwine financially supported Ms Kyarikunda, including spending more than $2,500 on her for a diploma in law.
The magistrate also ordered Kyarikunda to pay legal costs incurred by Tumwine in prosecuting his case. What do you make of the court ruling?
