Meet the Brain Behind the Much-Celebrated Akwanga Underpass Mural

The creative mind behind the widely celebrated Akwanga Underpass/Flyover mural in Nasarawa State has been identified as Austine Milet Abayi, a talented visual artist from Eggon land in Nasarawa State.

Popularly known on Facebook as Austine Milet Abayi, he is the CEO of Abayi Art and an Abuja-based conceptual artist renowned for using art to tell stories, promote culture, encourage good governance, and inspire social development.

Austine has gained recognition through his participation in several democracy-themed art exhibitions, where his thought-provoking works have received widespread praise. One of his notable pieces, "Twenty-Five Candles, One Flickering Flame," was featured in a democracy-themed art exhibition in Nigeria.

His latest masterpiece, the vibrant mural at the Akwanga Underpass/Flyover, has transformed the once-plain concrete walls into a colourful landmark that continues to attract admiration from residents and visitors.

Reacting to the success of the project on his Facebook page, Austine wrote:
